On June 25, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Herny Kissinger, the former U.S. secretary of state, exchanging views on the Sino-U.S. relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern. Yang is here for the high-level UN conference on the global financial and economic crisis and its impact on development.

On the same day, Yang also met with Arthur Schneier, president of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation of the United States.
