Ambassador Yue visits Cork City

On July 6th, 2017, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, visited Cork. During his visit, Ambassador Yue paid a courtesy call to Cllr. Tony Fitzgerald, new Lord Mayor of Cork. They had a discussion on enhancing China-Ireland subnational level friendly cooperation and exchanges. Ambassador Yue expressed his congratulation to Mr. Fitzgerald, and briefly introduced the development of China Ireland relationship and the Belt and Road initiative for international cooperation. Both agreed to jointly bring new achievements to the China-Ireland Strategic Partnership for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation and bilateral subnational level cooperation.

Also at present were Mme. Xue He, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy, Ms Therese Healy, Ireland's Consul General in Shanghai, Mr. Pat Ledwidge, Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council and other senior officials.

Ambassador Yue also hosted a discussion meeting with local Chinese.
