China Zigong Lantern Festival Opens In Dublin Zoo
(2017-11-26)

As one of China's World Intangible Cultural Heritages, Zigong Lantern "Wild Lights" which was launched earlier this month at Dublin Zoo, has become a must-see experience for local families and citizens. The Festival provides the attendees an opportunity to embark on an enchanting trail and discover a dazzling array of beautifully crafted, giant colourful lanterns inspired by nature and wildlife.

On November 25, Chinese Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong walked through the Wild Lights accompanied by Mr. Leo Oosterwighel, Director of Dublin Zoo. Ambassador Yue highly praised the Festival as an opportunity for Irish people to know more about China's traditional culture from the stunning lantern design, exquisite craft and the Chinese stories implicated.

Ambassador Yue also watched the performances featuring Chinese Acrobatics, Mask Changes and Kungfu Teapot and browsed at the Chinese craft market.
