On Thursday evening, 10th May 2018, H.E. Mr. Cai Qi had a cordial meeting at the City Hall in Dublin with H.E. Mr. Seán Ó Fearghaíl, Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann (Speaker of the lower house of the Irish parliament). Also present were H.E. The Ceann Comhairle fondly recalled his memorable visit in April to five Chinese cities, particularly his respective meetings in Beijing with his Chinese counterparts, H.E. Mr. Cai, who was on a visit to Ireland at the invitation of the Irish Government, expressed his appreciation for Mr. Ó Fearghaíl's enthusiasm about, and his contribution to, the further enhancement of the China-Ireland relations, as well as the exchanges between the Chinese and Irish legislatures.

Both the Party Secretary of Beijing and the Ceann Comhairle said they were fully confident of the future of the bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields in the New Era, and that they were ready to make concerted efforts to make China-Ireland relations even stronger and more fruitful.

That evening, Mr. Cai and Mr. Ó Fearghaí also attended a "My Beijing Stories" picture exhibition and a "Night of Beijng" Chinese folk music concert at the City Hall.
