Ambassador Yue Meets with Mayor of Galway Cllr. Niall McNelis

On Monday, 3 September 2018, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, met with Cllr Niall McNelis, the new Mayor of Galway City Council.

Ambassador Yue noted that the mutually beneficial strategic partnership between China and Ireland has been developing soundly. He appreciated Galway’s strong willingness to promote relations with China local provinces and municipalities and Irish Chinese community's contributions to the ever growing of China bilateral exchanges.

Both sides agreed to further promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields and keep the momentum of positive development of the relationship.

Also present were Mr. Brendan McGrath, Chief Executive of Galway City Council, Mr. Noel Grealish, a Galway-based independent TD and member of Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defence, Mr.Michael Hannon, acting President of Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, Mr. Qian Jinlun, President of Galway China-Ireland Friendly Association, Dr. Katherine Chan Mullen, Permanent President of Chinese Association in Ireland.
