Chinese Embassy published CIIE Special Report on the Irish Times

On October 31, the Irish Times published a 8-page special report on the First China International Import Expo (CIIE) titled “Gateway to China - China International Import Expo” sponsored by the Embassy of China in Ireland. The report introduced China’s foreign policies and commitments to opening-up and Belt and Road Initiative, and basic facts about CIIE.(https://www.irishtimes.com/sponsored/gateway-to-china

The front page carries President Xi Jinping’s policy statement on China’s further open up and the proposal of CIIE and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s “best wishes for successful Expo”.

Chinese Ambassador Dr. Yue Xiaoyong wrote an article indicating that CIIE is China’s courageous reform and opening move to firmly support for trade liberalization and economic globalization. The article also briefed China’s glorious achievement since its reform and opening-up 40 years ago and determination to deepen reforms and open further. Ambassador Yue also appreciated the smooth and strong growth of the Sino-Irish political, economic, trade and people-to-people relations and exchanges.

Mr Eoin O’Leary, Irish Ambassador to China wrote for appreciating strong relations between Ireland and China and sending his best wishes for the Expo.

The Irish Times also gave exclusive interviews respectively to Mme. Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Mme. McCathy, Chief Executive of Bord Bia, Mme. Sinnamon, Chief Executive of EI, Companies participating CIIE and Chinese companies in Ireland.

The Irish Times is an Irish daily broadsheet newspaper launched on 1859 with 80,000 circulations per issue recently and over 650,000 readers daily on both online and offline.
