Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong meets the Leaderships of Carlow County

On December 24th, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland met with Cllr. Brian O'Donoghue, Cathaoirleach of County Carlow and Ms. Kathleen Holohan, Chief Executive of the County Council.

Ambassador Yue introduced the recent major achievements of China-Ireland relations, as well as the new achievements including the Belt and Road Initiative and China International Import Expo (CIIE), encouraging the Carlow side to seize the opportunity in the year of 2019, which marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Ireland. Cllr. O'Donoghue and Ms. Holohan also gave an introduction of County Carlow's advantages and expressed their willingness to strengthen the links with China. Both agreed to jointly promote the exchanges and cooperation in the months and year to come.

Also present was Mr. Kieran Comerford, Head of Enterprise, Carlow County Council.
