Ambassador He attends Sino-Irish Tourism Conference

On 11th September, a conference entitled ‘Developing Tourism Relationships with China’ organized by Fáilte Ireland, Chinese Embassy in Ireland, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Tourism Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland was successfully held in Dublin.

Over 200 people attended the conference and related picture exhibition. Guests include H.E. Mr. He Xiangdong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran T.D., Minister of State for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief, Paul Kelly, CEO of Fáilte Ireland, Xue Ling, director of China National Tourism Office London, delegation of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, delegation of tourism enterprise from Yangtze River Delta along with representatives from Irish tourism industry.

In his address, Ambassador He spoke highly of the sound momentum of development in bilateral relations. He stressed tourism cooperation is an important way to build up mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Ireland has rich tourism resources. He hoped both sides can strengthen cooperation and further implement all measures for the China Ready program. Chinese side sincerely welcomes more Irish friends to visit China.

Minister Moran said the 40th anniversary of the establishment of China-Ireland diplomatic relations is a significant milestone. Irish government attaches great importance to Ireland-China relations, including tourism cooperation, and will introduce more measures to attract Chinese tourists.

Chinese attendees exchanged views with their Irish industry peers on government support, brand publicity, industry development, marketing and other issues of common concerns.
