Ambassador He Met with Minister Michael Creed

On 17th October 2019, Ambassador He Xiangdong met with Mr. Michael Creed, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

Ambassador He said the cooperation in agricultural sector between China and Ireland enjoys a sound momentum. Ireland’s trade with China is the fastest growing one among all EU member countries. Irish beef and dairy product export to China have witnessed fast growth. The Chinese side is willing to work together with the Irish side to push the bilateral agricultural exchanges and cooperation to a new high.

Minister Creed said Ireland is working hard to diversify its export market in the context of Brexit. The Chinese market has huge potential and the Irish side attaches great importance to Ireland-China relations. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine of Ireland would like to further enhance its communication and coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China to promote agricultural trade and cooperation between the two countries.
