Love Relays to fight together Covid-19
2020/03/25

On 25th March, a special donation of medical protective equipment was made among Mr. Sean Bresnan, National Director of Procurement, Health Service Executive, Mr. Conor Mulvihill, Director of Dairy Industry Ireland (DII), and Ms. Luolan Jin, First Secretary of the Commercial Section from the Chinese Embassy.

The donation, including 10000 FFP2 masks, 500 goggles, 542 coveralls, and 3 Jupiter Turbo Units, was originally gathered for Hubei Province of China, by 12 Irish dairy and meat companies organized by DII and Meat Industry Ireland (MII). Due to the shrinking capacity of air freight service between Ireland and China, the donation has been kept in a warehouse in Dublin. After the Irish government asking for emergency procurement for medical supplies from China, Ambassador He contacted with DII to express the appreciation for the support from Irish people, and suggested to transfer the donation to HSE. After discussing with the Irish companies, DII agreed to let the Chinese Embassy to make the final decision.

Mr. Bresnan thanked the Embassy for the relay of the donation of DII, and for the assistance from the Embassy in sharing the epidemic prevention information and souring the medical supplies for HSE.
