On February 20, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Ambassador of China to Ireland, met with Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh TD in Leinster House. Ambassador Yue spoke highly of the steady development of education exchanges and cooperation between China and Ireland over past years, including collaboration in research between universities and the teaching of the Chinese language in Ireland. Ambassador Yue appreciated the preparation made by the Irish side for the upcoming Fifth Meeting of the China-Ireland Joint Working Group on Education to be held in Dublin, and wished Minister McHugh’s visit to China in March a great success.

Minister McHugh expressed his wish for an expansion of partnerships between Irish and Chinese universities.
