On 6th March, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, met with Ms. Caroline Devlin, the new Chairperson of Ireland China Business Association (ICBA), Ms. Susan Barret and Mr. Ken Duggen, former Chairpersons of ICBA. Also present at the meeting were Mr. Pat Ledwidge, Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council, Madam He Xue, the Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, as well as Mr. Wei Xu and Mr. Jijie Shen representing Chinese companies in Ireland.

Ambassador Yue expressed the appreciation to ICBA for its contribution to bilateral relations, and encouraged ICBA to grasp the opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the China International Import Expo. He also gave a comprehensive briefing to the guests upon the major achievements and the opportunities brought in by China’s deepening of Reform and Opening-up.

Ms. Caroline Devlin thanked the Ambassador for the continuous support of the Chinese Embassy to ICBA, and expressed the determination of ICBA to further promote trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
