On April 10, H.E. Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong met with H.E. Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl in Leinster House.

Ambassador Yue conveyed the warm greetings from H.E. Mr. Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), and H.E. Mr. Wang Yang, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to Ceann Comhairle and thanked for his great support for the development of China-Ireland relations and exchanges between Sino-Irish legislative bodies.

Mr. Ó Fearghaíl extended his best wishes to H.E. Mr. Li Zhanshu and H.E. Mr. Wang Yang. He also expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Yue's contribution to the robust momentum of China-Ireland relations. Ceann Comhairle recalled his successful visit to China in April 2018 and hoped to further develop people-to-people relations between the two countries.

Also at present were Mr. Huang He, Political Counsellor of the Embassy and Mr. Peter Finnegan, Secretary General of the Houses of the Oireachtas Service.
