Ambassador He Xiangdong presents copy of Letter of Credence

On 10 May 2019, H.E. Mr. He Xiangdong, the new Chinese Ambassador to Ireland presented copy of Letter of Credence to Mr. Feilim McLaughlin, Chief of Protocol of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland.

Ambassador He said that he is delighted to assume duties of Chinese ambassador to Ireland when the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is being celebrated. The past 40 years have witnessed continuous enhancement of Sino-Irish cooperation and exchanges in various fields. The Ambassador expressed his readiness to make joint efforts with the Irish side to facilitate further development of China-Ireland relations for the benefit of the two peoples.

Mr. McLaughlin warmly welcomed and congratulated Ambassador He assuming on his post. He appreciated the positive momentum of Ireland-China relations and cooperation, and expressed the Irish side’s readiness to work along with Chinese side for further enhancement of the bilateral relations.

Ambassador He and his wife arrived in Dublin on 3 May 2019.
